Applicants may be granted acceptance into the College based upon entrance test scores on qualifying examinations, including the ACT, SAT, HESI A2, and TEAS, or evidence of a previously earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Please contact your admissions representative for more information on equivalent examinations and test scores. Admission test scores must have been earned within the last five years.
If an applicant is currently attending or has attended a school other than Galen with a related curriculum, he or she may be able to obtain credit for those courses. A request for evaluation of prior or current courses and credits must be submitted and approved prior to signing the enrollment agreement. A copy of the official transcript(s) of the courses to be considered for transfer must be sent to Galen directly from each school, college, or university attended.

Students who participate in the clinical experiences are at risk for exposure to and possible transmission of vaccine-preventable diseases. Maintenance of immunity is therefore required to attend the nursing program. In order to protect students, healthcare providers, and patients, Galen requires students to provide evidence of adequate immunity to Hepatitis B virus (HBV), Varicella (Chicken Pox), Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis, and a negative screening for tuberculosis (TB).

In the evaluation of transfer credit, Galen utilizes TES®, the Transfer Evaluation System from CollegeSource which is the premier interactive database of course data from institutions of higher education to track and display previously approved courses for transfer. The equivalencies shown are for information purposes only and are subject to change due to changes in curriculum. Galen does not transfer in developmental, prelicensure, or nursing courses taken prior to achieving an RN license.
